“I’d say Rocks (4138 N. Lincoln) because their white-trash nachos with pickled jalapenos are amazing, the staff is super awesome and I love the bar arrangement. It’s very cool, and nearby, which always works.”

“Wild Goose in Lincoln Square (4265 N. Lincoln) has some of the best wings I’ve ever had. I actually crave their wings. They have a huge beer list, the servers are really friendly and the Cubs’ and Blackhawks’ playoff games are always on.

“Chicago Cut Steakhouse (300 N. Lasalle) because they are top-notch. They are five-star, they serve nothing but exclusively USDA prime beef, and their bone-in filet is on point. Absolutely superb. The truffle scalloped potatoes are phenomenal — thinly sliced creamy potato with pancetta bacon and parmesan cheese. The crab and avocado appetizer is unbelievable as well.”

“The new Replay Arcade Bar in Andersonville (5358 N. Clark; a second location exists in Boystown). If you want a great craft beer selection and free video games, this is your place. They have a good menu too. I’ve been there for brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night. And there are a ton of other great places around that neighborhood as well in case you want to explore. “

“The Hidden Cove (5336 N. Lincoln) in Lincoln Square is a great karaoke bar that’s open till 4 a.m. It’s always good for a few drinks and a good time. Just a great dive bar with cheap beer. It’s one of the only dive karaoke bars with good prices. The karaoke and the atmosphere is what draws people in, and we always stay longer than we should.”
